Ahh, the last of the campers and Labor Day Weekend partiers have headed home. Mosquito Lake on the Western Slope of Ebbetts Pass takes a well-deserved break...everything is calm at last! Captured on Labor Day 2017.
Fall Makeover
Captured on Labor Day evening after sunset. Hours before, Lake Alpine was full of swimmers, kayakers, dogs and families. At this moment (the unofficial end of summer and start of autumn), they've all departed and Lake Alpine looks as though it is preparing for the quiet beauty of Autumn. If you look closely, you can see what appears to be the transition from warm summer hues to the cool autumn sky.

Captured on Telegraphy Road off Highway 4. This is a short diversion off of Highway 4 on the way up to the Sierras. The road less-traveled is incredibly scenic!

I went to capture the near-full moon rising above Mosquito Lake and arrived early enough to be treated to this awesome sunset. Mosquito Lake lies off Highway 4 on Ebbetts Pass in California's Northern Sierra Mountain Range.

Upper Kinney Lake is a classic alpine lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The lake is off the Pacific Crest Trail in Northern California, near the summit of Ebbetts Pass.
